Bagels, Billboards and Ballads: Youth Art Month Fundraiser for Billboard Generation VII
Your Art Here (YAH) is a hosting a family-friendly fundraiser entitled “Bagels, Billboards and Ballads” in support of our seventh annual youth art billboard competition, Billboard Generation VII at the Monroe County History Center, 202 East 6th Street, Bloomington, Indiana, 47408 on Saturday, February 7, 2009 from 11 am to 2 pm. Admission is $5.00 per adult; kids are free.
“Bagels, Billboards and Ballads” is a kid-inspired event guaranteed to generate fun for family and friends. Food and drinks will be provided as well as interactive musical entertainment and an opportunity to participate in a billboard-scale, collaborative art project in the spirit of this year’s Billboard Generation theme, “Sustainability: Living in Balance.”
Musical performers, Yuri Rodriguez, Steve Mascari and Lara Lynn and The Kid (Lara Lynn Weaver and Kevin MacDowell) are certain to inspire toe-tapping, hip-wiggling fun for all. Families will also have an opportunity to reflect on sustainability issues by contributing to a billboard art project entitled “Tree of Life.”
Billboard Generation is a youth art project sponsored by Your Art Here in honor of National Youth Art Month in March. Chosen artwork from grade school through high school will be displayed on billboards in Bloomington and Indianapolis during March of 2009.
All proceeds will go to fund kids art for the YAH Billboard Generation VII (BBG VII) project. Hope to see you at Bagels, Billboards and Ballads!
