Billboard Generation
Thanks to everyone who helped with the Your ART Here fundraiser to put kids art on Billboards last March. The bands, of course, Polymer, The Neophytes, The Nicotones, The Decanters, and The Coke Dares, True Skateboards (R.I.P), Diane Davis Deckard of the MCSSC, the students who submitted their ideas, a frenzy of volunteers, and the ongoing support of our patrons came together to make Youth Arts Month a wild success.

In case you missed it. To celebrate National Youth Arts Month, Your Art Here invited local school children of all ages to make art based on the theme “Peace and/or War.” Two works were chosen and were reproduced on Bloomington billboards, and went up the same day that the U.S. government declared war on Iraq. Check out images from the show and entries at the Your Art Here site (background image: local art enthusiasts, The Coke Dares, and fans)

The Good Word
Since March, YAH has exhibited numerous pieces on BB101, entered a float in the Bloomington, IN, Fourth of July Parade, has founded two new community-run billboards in Indianapolis, and is preparing for Flatlands: Billboards in the Crossraods of America, a collaboration with the IU SoFA Gallery to put Indiana artists' work on billboards. Look for information about the upcoming exhibition, as well as new calls for entries, YAH-fest, and much, much more. Your continued support makes Your Art Here possible. PS. Additionally, thanks (also called Kudos to you in advertising land) goes to Big, Bad, Neil Sly and dotsimple.com for hosting the yourarthere.org website!
